But I Don’t Eat That Much!
Simple Truth: The number of calories you consume on a daily basis determines whether you gain weight or whether you lose weight. Whoa…that is simple…yet, this is one of the most important and least understood aspects of any lose weight program.
Studies have shown that overweight people believe they are eating no more food than other people they associate with who are considerably slimmer than they are.
The overweight people are under the impression that the reason they are heavier and gaining weight is due to their body's metabolism. You've heard that yourself and probably even believe it, right? Well….that is a false impression.
When keeping a record of their food consumption over a specified period of time, it was proven that they were actually consuming more calories than the slimmer people. Their heavier weight had nothing to do with their metabolism, but rather with their choice of food and the quantities they were eating.
So…while that may be a tough reality for some of us, the really great part is that you only need to reduce your calorie intake by 100 calories per day to see a substantial effect on your weight over the period of a year. And this is quite easy to do with all the healthy diet plans out there now.
It is a very manageable goal for almost everybody, as it isn't too difficult to cut back by 100 calories per day. However, many of the weight loss plans are recommending considerably more reduction in calories, making it very difficult to maintain, and as a result of this many people are failing to achieve their weight loss goals.
Now, when you combine the fact that you only need to reduce calories by that little, with additional supplementation of vitamins and minerals that can help your overall health, you can see how with the best weight loss plans it's easy to stay nutritionally balanced throughout the whole weight loss process and not feel as though you are starving yourself.
For many people, just knowing that the hurdle is so small is enough to ensure that they can start and maintain a good, healthy weight loss program.

Hi there thanks for posting this article. I would just want to react at least about the thing you said regarding "metabolism" I myself believe that our metabolism DOES affect our weight, that is why we are to drink water to lose weight. Tell me if it's not true please, thanks!
Yes, of course our metabolism does affect our weight, but that does not change the fact that if you eat more calories than you burn, you will still gain weight…or at the least not lose any. My point is that many people hide behind their “metabolism” and use it as an excuse for being overweight, rather than facing the facts that they just eat too much. As for drinking water to lose weight – I’m not convnced it is all that beneficial. I’ll post an article on that topic soon. Thanks so much for visiting!
