Do You Comfort Eat?
At the moment we all seem to be putting on weight, no matter how much we try to exercise and lose those excess pounds. I think one of the main reasons is because we tend to comfort eat. Eating is enjoyable and more often than not it is relaxing, we enjoy the flavors of the food we are eating, and we enjoy the rush of sugar we get when we eat something like a doughnut or a chocolate bar (plus chocolate actually gets our brain to release chemicals that make us feel good).
Unfortunately as we find it pleasurable to eat things, then when we have something go wrong in our lives, or we have a really bad day at work, then a lot of people will turn to food to comfort them and that means you are eating a lot of extra calories. We all have our own coping mechanisms to help us deal with all the stress we experience in our modern lives, these are things we learnt as we were growing up and that is why some people do comfort eat and others don’t seem to need to. So that means if your partner never seems to eat when they are stressed then maybe you realize they always go to the gym, that is their coping mechanism.
Other people will go and talk with friends, or do Pilates, watch a funny film, even build model railways, these are the things which comfort us and help us deal with life. What this means is that you can’t just try and force yourself to stop comfort eating, you have to find something else to help you deal with the stress first or you won’t be able to stop.
The first thing you need to do is keep a food journal, monitor what you eat and when you think you are comfort eating, that will help you both notice when you are doing it, and allow you to plan things that can replace it. Say you find that lunch time at work is the worst for you because you have a stressful meeting every morning or something like that, well at lunch then you can go for a walk instead, the fresh air and change of environment will help clear your head and relax you.
Or maybe the evening is the worst time for you as you are dreading the next day at work, in which case you could try something like meditation to relax you and clear your mind. I know most people would hate the thought of doing that, but they are just suggestions, the key is to find things that you enjoy doing so you can cut out all those extra calories.
If you have put on some weight from comfort eating then you might want to try the Fat Burning Furnace which is a really popular diet and exercise program that is on the market now.

Best Alternatives to Detoxification Methods
Many people out there think that going through a detoxification period is the only way of keeping your body clean from foreign substances and making you healthier . However, there are plenty of other ways to accomplish these same goals without going through specific rigorous and intense detoxification instructions. Even though detox diets have proven themselves effective, and thousands of people do adhere to them, here are some other detoxification methods that you may or may not have thought about.
Aromatherapy
This alternative detoxification method is already used by very many people throughout the world, and it is a very old practice that has recently been popular in Western society and the United States . The principle of aromatherapy, though, rests on the fact that breathing in vapors and scents through certain aromas will help the body rid itself of the toxins. These specific aromas that can be used can usually be purchased at health food and other grocery stores. Some of the aromatherapy can be used while giving yourself a hot bath or shower. If taking a bath then the oils and vapors can be added directly to the water that you’re soaking in. People believe that the toxins in the body will leave once the water, vapors, and oils are soaked into the skin, as well as breathed in through the nose. There are people out there who claim aromatherapy works just as well, if not better that following a rigid detoxification diet .
Acupuncture
Just like aromatherapy, acupuncture was used in Eastern societies many centuries ago and it has come to Western societies today in order to bring good health to everyone . Acupuncture can be used as an alternative to detoxification because it is believed that the needles that are placed in the skin have something to do with the pressure sensation points on the body. These pressure points, though, the pressure of the needles, will be able to relax and detoxify the body. There are all sorts of people who perform acupuncture on a steady basis, and many people contend that acupuncture is an excellent alternative to drinking natural juices, soups, and other raw vegetables for a whole week, which is what many detoxification methods require.
Healthy Diet
Among other things, studies have shown that people who engage in healthy diets will be healthier than others across the board . Millions of people continue to eat healthy everyday, having whole wheat sandwiches instead of Big Macs, cooking eggs instead of eating restaurant eggs, as well as just eating better in general. Putting yourself on a healthy diet will probably benefit you more than any other detoxification method ever could simply because you are not restricting yourself to what you can eat. On the other hand, detoxification methods usually call upon the body to give up food for one or two days while pureed and blended juices need to be digested.
The above cleansing alternatives truly do work . Even though many people still engage in detoxification methods because they work, it is certainly nice to know that there are other alternatives available.
Our Technology Is A Weight Loss Challenge

I'm sure everyone of you has at least one grandparent, or maybe an older relative…or maybe it's you…who loves to go on about how you have it so easy – not like when they were a kid.
