Losing Weight – Reasons Why Its Not Happening

If you find that no matter how hard you try to lose weight, that it simply doesn’t seem to be working then there could be a good reason why this is happening. The following are some examples of things which could be preventing you from losing weight.

- You might be hoping for too much too quick. One common problem that a lot of people who are on a diet find is that they are expecting changes to their body shape immediately. It does take time for you to notice the results but if you keep at it you will reap the rewards.

- You could be doing exercise but are still eating the same. Exercising is a great way to get back in shape, but unless you change your diet as well the results can be quite modest.

- In order for you to really see the benefits then you must incorporate more cardio exercises. You should try to aim for half an hour of cardio five times a week if you really want to burn off those calories.

- Stress can have a negative impact on your fitness efforts. Any time that the body feels under threat in any way it will begin to store fat so this could be hampering your attempts to lose weight.

- One common reason why people do not lose weight is because they are consuming too many carbohydrates. The sugars that are provided by carbs will be stored unless they are used for energy. Change your diet and see if this helps.

- You could be gaining muscle. While this is a good thing, your weight might seem heavier because muscle weighs more than fat. However extra muscles will make it easier for you to burn off more calories and this will ensure that your weight loss is enhanced.

- You are not burning enough calories as you are not reaching a high enough level of exercise. Check out what your target heart rate should be for exercise and aim for this.
